Notley's League Report 29th November.

Following last weeks entire programme being wiped out normal service was nearly resumed with just a handful of games postponed.

The first division saw leaders Hearts of Oak rack up an impressive 7-1 win against Waveney Res. (Ant Fields 3, Kirk Gowing 3, J Williams) to extend their lead to 4 points following Blundeston Magpies draw with Kirkley.

Magpies who have adapted to the first division well shared the points in a 1-1 draw at Kirkley but slip to third as FC Hearts beat Sole Bay Res. 6-0 to overtake both Magpies and Kirkley in the table.

In 5th place come Norton who had to work hard in beating lowly Oxford Arms 3-2 (Steve Moore 2 & Paul Harriman).

The games between Caxton Res & Barsham and Spexhall & Pot Black were postponed to waterlogged pitches as was Wrentham’s Junior Cup tie at Kedington which will now take place this weekend.

The second division sees new leaders as previous occupants Ole Franck lost at home 2-1 to Norton Athletic Res. who came from behind to win with goals from Sean Higginbotham & Gary Crisp and propel themselves up to 3rd place.

The new leaders are in form White Horse Seltic who crushed Crusaders 7-0.

Bungay Town A claimed the bragging rights in their derby with Ellingham as they scored a 3-1 win, whilst Oulton Broad & Notley’s Res. returned to winning ways with a bang as they inflicted a 7-2 defeat on Hopton White Hart.

Lowestoft International claimed a 3-0 win against lowly Waveney Gunners whilst the match between Corton & Pakefield Re-United and Oxford Arms Res & Tudor were also called off.

The leaders of the third division remain Gt Yarmouth Town Hall despite losing for the first time as they went down 2-1 against Harleston Res.

Suffolk Punch closed the gap to a point following their 3-1 victory against Spexhall Res. and with the top three, 5 points clear and with games in hand it does look like a 3 horse race for the title.

Their was an impressive first win for Blundeston Magpies Res. who won 9-1 at White Horse Seltic Res. and Kirkley & Pakefield B also scored plenty as they beat Factory Arms 7-1.

Waveney A collected the points in their narrow 2-1 win against Lake Lothing whilst 6 goals were shared at Earsham between them and Marquis of Lorne as both teams stay mid division.
