Town Hall Match Report 17th Jan.

Got back to winning ways with a 4-2 win over Blundeston Magpies Res.at Normanston Park.Hall got into their stride early and for the first 40 minutes played arguably their best football of the season so far. With good use of the ball and some neat one touch passing with the movement to match, Hall had their opponents on the back foot and soon raced into a three goal lead. All three goals came courtesy of Matty Anderson, his second being the pick of the bunch, with a deft calm touch deceiving the
keeper. However five minutes before the break Magpies pulled one back with a strike from long range, and two minutes later reduced the deficit further when skipper Karl Coulson lost his balance allowing the striker to pick his spot.HT 3-2.

Second half saw Hall in control but as the game drew towards its conclusion a one goal margin is never enough, and with both sides hitting the woodwork Hall should have put the game beyond their opponents much earlier in the contest. That finally came 10 minutes from time from James Grant, hitting a crisp low drive into the corner of the net to confirm all three points for Hall.Final score 4-2.In a game that was physical at times, Hall lost both Shane Kingdom and Richard Donavan to injuries, the latter being so unnecessary, and it looks as these lads will be missing for a number of weeks. On a brighter note the manager blooded two youngsters, Jason Smith and Damien Wise from the "Academy" both giving encouraging performances.Good performances on the day also from an assured Rob Leggett at the back,Adam Yaxley pulling the strings in the middle, ably assisted by Rob Ripkey also playing in midfield giving his usual industrious display. However MOM must be hat trick hero Matty Anderson who has started his Hall career with 6 goals in his first 4 appearances.
