Notley's League Report 25th April.

So as we reach the end of April almost all of the domestic issues have now been decided.

We will start in the third division where Suffolk Punch completed the league and cup double by beating rivals Gt Yarmouth Town Hall 1-0 in the John Moore Shield Final on Friday evening. They followed this up on Saturday with an exciting 5-4 win at Factory Arms to extend their lead to 4 points with one game remaining. Town Hall will finish second with Factory Arms finishing bottom with Westhall above them.

Harleston Town Res. narrow 2-1 win against Marquis of Lorne all but confirms their 3rd place finish whilst Lake Lothing’s single goal win against Waveney A confirm a 4th place finish for them.

In the second division the top 3 are now confirmed. White Horse Seltic beat bottom side Oxford Arms Res. 5-2. Ole Frank needing one more win to confirm the runners up berth beat Waveney Gunners 3-0 whilst Norton Athletic following two straight defeat’s bounced back with a mid-week 4-1 success at Pakefield Re-United and a single goal win against Crusaders and are ready to pounce should Ole Frank slip.

Hopton White Hart look likely to finish 5th following their 4-2 reverse at Oulton Broad & Notley’s, a win that sees them safe. LIFC and Tudor shared an amazing ten goals and are comfortable in mid division whilst Ellingham’s much needed 2-0 victory at Bungay puts their destiny in their own hands. They need to gain a point from their final match with Tudor FC to stay up and send Waveney Gunners to the third division.

All the issues in the first division are now resolved. Champions are Hearts of Oak as they claimed the point they needed with their midweek goal-less draw at Caxton Res. They followed this up on Saturday with a 4-3 win at Norton Athletic condemming their hosts to a third place finish. Pot Black’s 2-0 win at Wrentham ensures the runners up spot completing a good season for them.

Spexhall’s 2-0 win against Oxford Arms moves them up to 6th place, whilst Oxford Arms are safe following their good 4-0 mid week win against cup finalists Waveney Res. Waveney have lost form since reaching the cup final and today went down 5-1 at Blundeston Magpies.

Finally Barsham on the back of three games in three days will finish mid table as they beat Caxton Res 3-2 on Thursday and followed this up with a 4-2 win against Sole Bay Res, a result that relegates Sole Bay.
