Only two sides stay unbeaten

WITH the final games in the first half of the District League season to be played tomorrow, just two teams will be aiming to go into the festive break unbeaten.

Pakefield Re-United will head into 2010 with an unblemished division two record of played ten, nine wins and one draw as their scheduled game with Crusaders tomorrow has already been called off.

Two goals from Harlow ensured Neil Dale's second-placed side beat fifth-placed Suffolk Punch 2-0.

In division three, table-topping Waveney Gunners have the only other unbeaten record with eight wins and one draw from nine games. They beat sixth placed Spexhall Reserves 3-0 last Saturday.

Norton took advantage to move into second place and are now four points behind with a game in hand. They set up an intriguing top of the table clash with the leaders tomorrow, by beating a strong K&P A team - who slip to seventh - 4-2, with goals for Rory Spinks, Paul Harriman, Andy Green and Tom Hudson.

With Oxford Arms inactive, Hearts of Oak returned to winning ways with a 5-1 away victory at 11th placed Corton White Horse Seltic and they are now 10 points behind the leaders with three games in hand.

Spexhall moved into sixth with an 8-1 demolition of tenth placed Blundeston Magpies, Pot Black are eighth after sharing the points with first-from-bottom Mutford and Wrentham in a 2-2 draw which featured two goals for Black striker Gavin Hunt, including a injury time equaliser.

Ole Frank are ninth after their fine 7-1 win over bottom of the table Beccles Caxton Reserves.

Elsewhere in Division Two, leaders AFC Star remain two points clear of Pakefield Re-United - who have a game in hand - following an 8-0 win over 12th placed Tudor FC.

Gt Yarmouth Town Hall are third after beating bottom of the table Harleston Town Reserves 5-3 away with two goals for Matty Anderson.

Ellingham are fourth after a 5-0home win over tenth placed Norton Athletic Reserves, Crusaders slip to sixth place after losing 4-2 at 11th placed Sole Bay United Reserves, while Corton A move above Bungay Town A into eighth after beating the now ninth placed side 3-1 away.

In Division 3, previous leaders Waveney A slipped to a surprising 2-3 home defeat against bottom of the table Carlton Rangers, who collected their second win of the campaign.

Third placed Norman Warrior were held to an entertaining 4-4 away draw at ninth-placed Oxford Arms Reserves, while fourth placed Earsham were also held away from home as they drew 3-3 at eighth placed Mutford & Wrentham Reserves.

Nathan Smith's solitary goal gave fifth placed Kirkley & Pakefield B the points in a 1-0 win over seventh placed Corton White Horse Seltic Reserves.

There was also a solitary single goal win for first from bottom Factory Arms in beating 12th placed Marquis of Lorne 1-0, while 11th placed Westhall had a fine 7-0 home win over tenth placed Blundeston Magpies Reserves.
