Notley's League Report 21st Feb.

Hearts of Oak look set to retain their first division title as they defeated nearest rivals Norton Athletic 4-0 at Normanston Park with their superior finishing being the difference.

With Wrentham losing 4-2 at home to Barsham and Pot Black’s match with Kirkley & Pakefield A being abandoned it looks like a 4 way battle for the runner’s up berth with FC Hearts in the mix following their 4-3 win against Blundeston Magpies.

In a fraught affair at Denes High School Waveney Res. and Spexhall shared 6 goals whilst the points were also shared at Caxton Meadow as Caxton Res & Sole Bay United Res. drew 1-1.

The second division remains as tight as ever but did see a new twist at the top. Corton White Horse Seltic edge closer to the title following their 5-0 victory against Oxford Arms Res. This meant they extended their lead to 12 points as second placed Ole Frank crashed to another heavy defeat this time 4-1 against Corton A.

Norton Athletic Res. are now prime candidates to challenge for second spot as they kept their 3rd straight clean sheet in their solitary goal win against Waveney Gunners and they sit 2 points behind frank with two games in hand.

Hopton White Hart slip a place and are joined on 31 points by Pakefield Re-United following the latter’s 3-2 victory.

Crusaders continue to drop after they were beaten 6-4 by an improving Tudor FC whilst Bungay Town A edge past LIFC 2-1 to move into the top 6. The final game saw Ellingham and Oulton Broad & Notley’s Res. draw 2-2.

There were just 3 matches played in the third division where Town Hall scored a 7-1 win at Factory Arms.

Earsham continue to climb as they beat Magpies Res. 4-1 whilst Marquis of Lorne netted the 3 points after their 2-1 success at White Horse Seltic Res.

Elsewhere in the John Moore Shield, Kirkley & Pakefield B won through to the semi finals after their 3-1 win against Lake Lothing. Suffolk Punch won 4-1 at Waveney A and Harleston Town Res. saw past rivals Westhall 3-1.
