League Report 11th September

Week two of the season only three of the first division teams have their 100% records in tact. They are Oxford Arms who opened their campaign with a solid 4-0 win against Gt Yarmouth Town Hall. Norton Athletic who hit five for the second week running, this week Corton White Horse Seltic were the victims in a 5-1 defeat, Norton’s scorers Steven Hak 2, Andy Green 2 and Ben Burcham and Hearts of Oak who picked up maximum points in a tight affair with Barsham which ended 3-2. Hearts scorers being Kirk Gowing, Jake Armes & Kris Atkinson.

Elswhere in the top division Pot Black secured a good point in their 1-1 draw with Waveney. Scott Reynolds giving L’Orange the lead before Ray Winney hit back.

Their was a high scoring affair between Pakefield Re-United and Blundeston Magpies with both sides taking a point after their 4-4 draw.

The second division sees 4 teams all on maximum points with Hopton leading the way following their 7-0 win against Beccles Caxton Reserves. Crusaders are second after a good 5-0 win against Lowestoft International.

Waveney Gunners have started the season well and followed up last weeks win at Ellingham with another win this time 5-1 at Norton Athletic Reserves. The sides were locked at 1-1 at the break with Norton’s Steve Nicol levelling the scores before the break. Gunners came out on top though with two wonder goals putting them in the driving seat before adding two more late on.

DK Consultants are also on maximum points with a fine 2-0 win at promoted Earsham.

Relegated Mutford & Wrentham were held to a goalless draw at Ellingham whilst Bungay Town A collected the first win by beating Telecom Rovers 3-1.

The third division also sees 4 teams on 6 points with Harleston Town Reserves heading the early table after their 4-0 win at Factory Arms.

Kirkley & Pakefield B have had a fine start to the season and chaulked up a 8-1 victory at Southwold Town Reserves. Corton White Horse Seltic Reserves came back from Westhall with a 4-1 win whilst Marquis of Lorne won by the odd goal of seven at Blundeston Magpies Reserves.

FC Eastport have made a steady start and picked up their first 3 point return by winning 3-2 against Carlton Rangers. Mutford & Wrentham Reserves also won by the off goal of 5 against Royal Oak whilst Oxford Arms Reserves condemned Lowestoft Albion for another heavy defeat, 11-1.
