League Report 02nd October

As we move into October the top three in the first division all won maintaining their perfect records and all posted clean sheets in the process.

Hearts of Oak continue to lead the way as their 3-0 win against Pot Black made it 5 from 5. On the score sheet were Jon Williams, Simon Greenwood and Stu McKenna. Both sides also missed penalties with Danny Sharman firing wide for Pot Black and Kirk Gowing's effort saved by the PB keeper Elliot Reynolds.

Oxford Arms won for the fourth time and are yet to concede a goal, this time a 2-0 success at Kirkley & Pakefield A.

Norton Athletic returned from Barsham with the three points although they were fortunate to do so as Barsham laid siege to the Norton goal hitting the underside of the bar twice. Norton though defended resolutely and snatched the winner with 5 minutes left via substitute Steve Moore.

Waveney Reserves are up to fourth place and also kept a clean sheet as they recorded a 3-0 win against Corton White Horse Seltic.

The next two games were high scoring affairs as Blundeston Magpies drew for the third time this season in a 3-3 draw with Spexhall.

Corton & Ole Frank ran out 8-4 winners in their game with Gt Yarmouth Town Hall and as a result climb to mid table.

DK Consultants continue to lead the way in division two as they picked up maximum points following their 6-0 win against Beccles Caxton Reserves. Waveney Gunners have taken to the division well and they recorded an emphatic 8-2 win at morning leaders Crusaders.

Mutford & Wrentham move into third place following their 4-1 win against Telecom Rovers whilst Hopton in fourth caulked up a massive 11-0 win against inform Bungay Town A.

Lowestoft International are up to 6th following a 3-0 win at struggling Norton Athletic Reserves whilst Spexhall Reserves scored the only goal in their match with Waveney A.

Kirkley & Pakefield B continue to head the third division and did well to net a point following their 1-1 draw with Factory Arms despite having to call on some club officials to help make a side.

Corton White Horse Seltic Reserves remain second as Royal Oak failed to fulfil their fixture whilst Mutford & Wrentham Reserves move into 4th as they won 3-1 at their Blundeston counterparts.

FC Eastport picked up a fine 4-2 win against Harleston Town Reserves whilst Southwold Town A recorded a 4-0 win at strugglers Lowestoft Albion.

In the Norfolk Primary Cup Earsham progressed after needing extra time to defeat Stoke Ferry 5-3.
