League Report 30th October

As we surpass the ¼ mark of the season things are starting to shape in the popular three division league.

The first division is showing 4 teams with relative consistency whilst the remainder of the division sees teams all taking points of each other.

The leaders are Hearts of Oak who moved onto 22 points following their narrow 2-1 win against Spexhall, however Oxford Arms are only a point adrift with a game in hand. Their side boasts the best defensive record in the entire league as they kept their 6th clean sheet in 7 games as they worked their way to a 3-0 win over 4th placed Waveney Reserves.

Norton Athletic are in third following a goal bonanza at their Subcourse ground in which they won 10-4 against Corton & Ole Frank with Kevin Briers netting 4 times, Sean Higginbotham 3, Steven Hak 2 and a first goal of the season for Tom Hudson on his first appearance following a lengthy ankle injury.

In a midfield battle Kirkley & Pakefield A shared the points with Barsham after a 2-2 draw whilst Blundeston Magpies went down to a 3-2 defeat at Gt Yarmouth Town Hall in a battle of black and white stripes.

Pakefield Re-United won for the second time as they cruised to a 9-2 win against Corton White Horse Seltic.

At this stage the second division sees DK Consultant and Waveney Gunners joint leaders with DK top courtesy of a better goal difference following their 7-0 win at lowly Ellingham. Waveney Gunners won 2-1 at Earsham.

Mutford & Wrentham are third some 5 points off the pace as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Spexhall Reserves whilst Hopton with a game in hand recorded a 6-2 win against bottom side Norton Athletic Reserves despite being level for almost an hour. Gary Crisp netting twice for Norton.

Telecom Rovers had a fine 4-1 win at an out of sorts Crusaders whilst Lowestoft International netted the only goal in their match with Beccles Caxton Reserves.

Waveney A continue to rise up the table as they won 2-1 against Bungay Town A.

Heading the third division are Corton White Horse Seltic Reserves who maintained their 3 point lead following a fine 5-1 win against Oxford Arms Reserves whilst in second place come Mutford & Wrentham who boosted their goal difference as they thumped Lowestoft Albion 17-0.

Marquis of Lorne are sitting in third following their 5-2 win against Westhall FC whilst FC Eastport continue their fine form in winning 8-0 at a desperate Southwold Town Reserves.

Carlton Rangers picked up their first win 3-1 at Factory Arms whilst Royal Oak inflicted a second league defeat on Kirkley & Pakefield B as they won 3-2.

Harleston Town Reserves picked up maximum points with a 6-2 win at Blundeston Magpies Reserves.

This week sees the second round of the Junior Cup and we wish our teams all the best of luck.
