League Report 6th November

It was a good weekend for the league in the Suffolk Junior Cup as we had 5 teams progress to the last 16. The only team to bow out were Barsham who lost 2-1 to Pot Black who came from behind with goals from Wardrop and Durrant to win and set up a long away trip to Glemsford & Cavendish United.

Blundeston Magpies had the most impressive result of the day winning 7-1 at RF Saints to book a third round tie at Claydon. The next round will be played on November 27th.

It was a case of one in and one out in the Norton Primary Cup as both the league sides were involved in 2-1 scorelines. Hopton won through against Snetisham Maroons whilst Norton Athletic Reserves went down 2-1 against South Yarmouth with Tom Hudson netting the goal.

Onto league matters and Pakefield Re-united picked up their second 9-2 win of the season against Gt Yarmouth Town Hall.

Waveney Reserves slipped to a second defeat as they lost 3-2 at Kirkley & Pakefield A whilst Corton White Horse Seltic were handed the win as Corton & Ole Frank failed to raise a side.

The second division sees the leaders extend their advantage to 7 points as both DK Consultants and Waveney Gunners picked up victories. DK won 4-1 at Telecom Rovers whiles Gunners won 4-2 at Waveney A.

Third places Mutford & Wrentham were held to a 3-3 draw against Crusaders whilst Spexhall Reserves fine form continued as they beat Lowestoft International 2-1.

Bungay Town A won the local derby with Earsham 3-0 whilst Beccles Caxton Reserve and Ellingham battled out a 7 goal affair with Caxton winning by the odd goal of the seven scored.
