League Report 26th February

The fixture list this week was decimated by postponements across the region due to the rain with only 1 fixture played in the first division, 4 in the second and one in the Primary Cup.

We will start in the Primary cup where Mutford & Wrentham failed to reach the final as they slipped to a single goal defeat at Great Blakenham. The leagues hops now rest of the shoulders of DK Consultants who will try again this week against Benhall St Mary.

The only game to survive in the first division was between Blundeston Magpies and Pot Black which ended all square at 1 apiece.

The second division saw two high scoring affairs. Firstly in a clash of the bottom two Norton Athletic Reserves thumped Ellingham 8-0. Norton have now won 4 of their last 5 and despite still sitting in the drop zone now have their destiny back in their own hands as a win in their game in hand could see them climb above both Telecom Rovers and Waveney A whilst for Ellingham it looks inevitable that they will drop into the third division having only picked up four points all season and currently 12 from safety.

Telecom Rovers plight was not helped as they slipped to a 1-0 reverse against Waveney Gunners whilst Waveney A were on the wrong end of a 9-4 score line at Crusaders.

The final match to survive saw Hopton record a 2-1 win against Spexhall Reserves.
