League Report 5th February

The first division title race was blown open as leaders Oxford Arms lost their first game of the season to challengers Hearts of Oak, 3-0. Hearts are still 12 points adrift of Oxford in 5th place but do have three games in hand.

In the battle of 2nd and 3rd at Denes HS it was Waveney Reserves who ran out 4-2 winners against Norton, a result which sees them move into second place in the table.

Norton are joined on 18 points by Blundeston Magpies who won 2-0 against Kirkley & Pakefield A’s.

The was a goal less draw between Pot Black and Gt Yarmouth Town Hall whilst Pakefield Re-United scored 8 without reply at bottom side Corton White Horse Seltic who look nailed on for the drop.

The final game in a tight division saw Barsham win 2-1 at Spexhall. Spexhall are bang out of form are now in the bottom three.

DK Consultants position at the top of the second division strengthened as they won 4-0 at Lowestoft International whilst second placed Bungay Town A could only draw 1-1 at Crusaders.

Waveney Gunners challenge seems to be slipping as they lost for a third time in a seven goal thriller with Mutford & Wrentham.

Hopton and Earsham shared the points as they drew one each whilst Spexhall Reserves returned from Telecom Rovers with all the points following their 5-3 win.

Norton Reserves gained their second win of the season in a remarkable game with Beccles Caxton Reserves. Norton raced into an early 2-0 lead but turned round at half time trailing 3-2. Norton however scored five unanswered goals in the second half to run out 7-3 winners as their fight for survival continues.

The leaders of the third division Corton White Horse Seltic Reserves won 4-0 at Southwold Town Reserves. They remain three points clear of Mutford & Wrentham Reserves who defeated Harleston Town Reserves 3-1.

FC Eastport’s title hopes were dented as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Royal Oak.

Kirkley & Pakefield B defeated in form Factory Arms 2-0 whilst Blundeston Magpies Reserves won by the same scoreline against Westhall.

There was a fine win for Carlton Rangers whom defeated Oxford Arms Reserves 5-1.
