Semi-Finals go with form.

This week’s fixtures were partially hit by the blizzard like weather and with Walmer Road unplayable this meant league fixtures for Kirkley and Pakefield Reunited were lost along with Crusaders whose Kessingland pitch was also un-playable.

Thankfully though everywhere else was on and this meant the semi finals of the two cup competition went ahead albeit in atrocious conditions.

At Normanston Park holders Norton Athletic twice went behind to a young CDS Waveney side but they showed the greater strength in the second half to win through 5-3 with Paul Harriman grabbing a hat-trick. The win sets up a repeat of last years final as Hearts of Oak defeated Waveney Youth 3-1 to book their 4th consecutive final. The final will be played on Friday 2nd May at Crown Meadow.

In the John Moore Shield Bungay Town A had no trouble in cementing their final place with a 6-0 demolition at Westhall 2007 and they will meet Hopton White Hart who edged through 3-2 at Oxford Arms Res. This will be played on Friday 25th April at Crown Meadow.

The only league fixture in division one saw Sole Bay United Res. on the end of another heavy defeat as they went down 9-2 at Wrentham in a game that saw hat-tricks for Stuart Holland and Dale Gowing.

The second division title was thrown wide open as leaders Hearts of Oak Res. went down to Norton Athletic Res. 2-1 with Chris Morris scoring both the Norton goals.

Ellingham may have their minds on other things lost their 5th consecutive game as they went down 2-1 at Waveney Gunners and they will need to improve form quickly with their county cup final just a fortnight away. The other game played in the division saw Blundeston Magpies return to winning ways as they beat Oulton Broad & Notley’s Res. 4-1.

There were just two fixtures in the third division where Earsham won a thriller against CDS Waveney Res. 4-3. LIFC had no trouble in picking up 3 points as they beat Marquis of Lorne 6-0.
