Town Hall Reach Primary Final

The league would like to send its congratulations to Gt Yarmouth Town Hall who reached the final of the Norfolk Primary Cup on Saturday following their 3-1 win againt Thetford Rovers Reserves. This will be the second time in 3 season we have had a league representative in the final and hopefully Town Hall will go one better than Ellingham two years ago.

The final will be played on Friday 9th April at Dereham's Aldiss Park against Old Hunstanton.

Here are Town Hall's club notes on the match:

Town Hall reached their first county cup final in 39 years with a fullydeserved 3-1 victory over a sporting Thetford Rovers Reserve side at GreenLane.Manager Jonno sprung the first surprise of the day by opting to keeptop scorer Matty Anderson in reserve on the bench.

Hall then proceeded toget off to the worst possible start conceding in the first 40seconds.However this proved to be as good as it got for the opposition asHall bossed the game for the remaining 89 minutes.

The only blot being Halls inability to convert numerous chance that their possession andapproach play deserved.Half time came still one goal adrift, with themessage from the management "dont panic".

Early in the second half withBeckett skying a clear cut opening, and midfield dynamo Keith Vincentbeing withdrawn through injury, and who up to that point was probablyHalls best player, many may have thought it was going to be one of thosedays. However with top scorer Anderson now on the pitch and a change offormation Hall raised their game further.

On 55 minutes Rob Ripkey held offtwo Thetford defenders to fire home Halls much overdue equaliser, only onewinner now.Ten minutes later good work down the right from Shane Kingdonsaw him deliver a pinpoint cross for Matty Anderson to pick his spot witha header for his 27th goal of the season.

With fresh legs introduced Hall stayed dominant. The icing on the cake came 5 minutes from time withAnderson creating panic in the Thetford defence turning provider for Ripkey to tap home from close range.Final score 3-1.Superb effort anddetermination from all 14 players, well done everyone.

Final is due to beplayed on Friday April 9 at Dereham v Old Hunstanton. However with Hall noteven at the half way stage with their league games, thoughts must turn to the six league games before then, starting tomorrow v Hopton (AWAY).Jonnowill be in touch regarding arrangements.
